Asbestos Supervisor

Asbestos Supervisor Overview:

 

This one-day course will train asbestos supervisors to be compliant and knowledgeable both in theory and in practice with safe asbestos removal. 

All Class A friable asbestos removal requires that workers have a Class A asbestos removal licence, and the work must be performed under the supervision of a nominated asbestos supervisor who is certificated and has relevant experience. 

All Class B asbestos work which is carried out by more than one person, must have a certificated and experienced Class B supervisor readily available at the worksite.

 

Pre-requisites (Must hold in order to attend):

 

  • NZQA Unit Standard 29765 (Non-Friable Class B): Level 4, Credits 3 -Remove Non-Friable Asbestos

Or

  • NZQA Unit Standard 29766 (Friable Class A): Level 4, Credits 4 - Remove Friable Asbestos

Or both units.

 

Who should Attend?



This course is for asbestos professionals who have their Class A or Class B Licence, plus relevant industry experience in asbestos removal (3 years for Class A, 1 year for Class B), and who intend to become supervisors.  

 

Topics Covered:

  • Plan for asbestos removal

  • Preparation of site for removal

  • Supervising testing, compliance, and documentation in consultation with the assessor and the asbestos removalist

  • Overseeing removal and decontamination processes

  • Supervising and support team members

  • All equipment necessary to participate in this training will be provided by an experienced trainer.
