Asbestos Supervisor – Course Overview
This one-day course prepares asbestos supervisors to work safely, confidently, and in compliance with regulatory requirements. Learners will develop both theoretical knowledge and practical understanding of effective asbestos removal supervision.
Under current regulations, all Class A (friable) and Class B (non-friable) asbestos removal work must be undertaken by licensed workers and carried out under the supervision of a nominated, certificated asbestos supervisor.
Pre-requisites (must be met to attend)

Employer or company attestation

Employment agreement or contract confirming role and duration

Site logs, job sheets, timesheets, or asbestos-related work records

Records of site inductions, refresher training, or compliance training

CV supported by verifiable workplace documentation

Statutory declaration supported by additional evidence
Evidence must clearly demonstrate asbestos-related work and a minimum of 12 months’ relevant industry experience. CCTA may request more than one form of evidence to confirm eligibility.
Who Should Attend?
This course is designed for experienced asbestos removal professionals who are preparing to step into a supervisory role.
Participants must already hold Unit Standard 29766 (Class A) or Unit Standard 29765 (Class B) and meet the industry experience requirements.
Completion of this course does not, on its own, qualify a person to be nominated as a WorkSafe asbestos supervisor. Additional regulatory and licensing requirements apply.
Please note: WorkSafe requires a minimum of one (1) year of Class B removal experience or three (3) years of Class A removal experience to apply for supervisor certification.
